As a non-profit organization, each year every MOMS Club chapter is required to do at least one community service project benefiting women and children in their local community. These projects begin with some form of fundraising. MOMS Club of Modesto-Central held a yard sale in September to raise money to help fund our projects.
We chose a local foster agency and were able to go in to do a clean up and reorganization of their activity room. We bought new board games, outdoor sports equipment, and plenty of arts and craft supplies. A TV was donated along with a TV stand and video shelf. A group of moms met up and we cleaned everything out of the room, brought in a new large wooden storage shelf along with plastic storage bins and completed a head-to-toe clean up of the room. In a matter of hours, the room had a new face-lift along with a few personal touches!

We were also able to provide a local children’s crisis center with several items from their needs list. Everything from coloring books to paper plates to dry food items to stock their pantry and also cleaning supplies. We collected little toys like Hot Wheels and unwrapped McDonald toys to put in their treasure chest prize box for the children.
